To augment its performance-based musical theatre classes, HITS periodically offers specialized workshops and masterclasses with professional performers who have appeared on Broadway or in national touring companies.
Dance Master Class with Christina Grady (Grades 7 - 12)

HITS Theatre is proud to present a dance master class featuring professional dancer Christina Grady. Christina is a successful working Los Angeles dancer who frequently collaborates with artists such as Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, and Nicki Minaj. She has appeared in countless TV performances including the MTV VMA's, Saturday Night Live, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, The Voice, America's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, and many others. Christina has also appeared in several Lady Gaga videos including, "Applause", "Bad Romance", "You and I", and "Marry the Night".
Christina has a sincere passion for teaching and feels it is important to spread her knowledge of the entertainment industry and what it takes to be successful as a performer. She is passionate about teaching dance, the history of dance, and the performing arts. Individuality, confidence, and performance quality are essentials Christina will make sure her students will be left with
Christina was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where her love of entertaining started with her first dance class at age 2. From there she found her love for the arts: singing, acting, dancing, and musical theatre. She traveled competing and training at dance competitions and conventions such as Tremaine Dance Convention and performed in musicals. She was trained by longtime HITS choreographer, Dana Lewis. Christina is trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, musical theatre, hip hop, modern, acting, and voice and has toured the world dancing for artists like: Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Will.I.Am, Ne-yo, Enrique Iglesias, Space Cowboy, Keri Hilson, Cassie, Avril Lavigne, and Jody Watley.
Christina can be seen in countless TV performances such as the MTV VMAs, Saturday Night Live, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, the American Music Awards, David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, Teen Choice Awards, VH1 DIVA’S Live, the BET Awards, So You Think You Can Dance, BET's 106 and Park, George Lopez, the NBA All Star Game, the Kids Choice Awards, Monique, The Disney Channel, Toyota Commercials, and many others. Christina performed in several music videos such as: Lady Gaga’s “Applause”, “Bad Romance”, “You and I”, and “Marry the Night”. Enrique Iglesias “I Like It”, Keri Hilson’s “Pretty Girl Rock”, “Lose Control” and “Love Me”, and All American Rejects “Beekeepers Daughter” to name a few.
Christina is also a solo recording artist, formerly from the girl group “Nikki 16”. She enjoys performing, singing and recording. Her former group performed on E! with Missy Elliot and made many other TV and press appearances. She has also worked with artists/producers such as: Chris Brown, DJ Felli Fel, the late Heavy D, and many more.
She was assistant choreographer for the Disney TV show Shake it Up as well as numerous Disney videos etc. and recently NBC show SingOFF! She recently returned from Japan, singing with R&B/Soul sensation Jody Watley, and the country of Colombia filming many commercials that will air worldwide. She assists choreographer Richard Jackson for several projects including artists Jojo, and Matisse. She has been assistant choreographer on countless TV shows such as NBC’s Castle, MTV’s ABDC, and many award shows. She also assisted the legendary Michael Rooney.
Christina was asked, along with choreographer Rosero McCoy, to teach former First Lady Michelle Obama a dance.
Christina is known in the business as “Pasty” and will continue to prosper in the entertainment industry as a dancer, actress, singer, and teacher.
Master Class: Jim Johnson (Grades 7 - 12)

Speech and Dialect expert Jim Johnson will join HITS Theatre for a dialect master class exploring accents from around the world. The class is a must for any actor that wants to enhance their craft, as well as those interested in preparing for the possibility of international roles. Jim is a widely sough out dialect and speech resource and serves as voice professor at the University of Houston.
Jim Johnson is an Associate Professor of Voice and Dialects at the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, where he received the Provost's 2007 University Teaching Excellence Award. Jim served as the Director of the School of Theatre & Dance from 2013-2016 and is currently an Artistic Associate with the Houston Shakespeare Festival. He works professionally as an actor and as a voice and dialect coach and is a founder of Accent Help, which offers over 40 sets of materials for different accents and dialects.
