When students audition for high school theatre programs, their monologue and audition song will take less than 5 minutes. So what happens during the rest of the three hours they are there? Come find out as students will get the opportunity to work with Sarah Guzik, former Master Class Instructor at HSPVA, who will work with the students on the informal parts of the audition process. This Master Class will take students to the level above the Monologue and Audition Song as they work through Improvisational settings and cold readings. The session will end, with the students performing their monologue receiving one-on-one feedback from Sarah.

HITS is very excited that Sara is slipping out of her family visit home to Houston tocome to HITS Theatre! Sarah Guzick was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Theatre and then spent two years in a Bachelors of Fine Arts acting program at USC and two years in the Theatre Department at the University of Texas in Austin. Sarah ultimately graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a self-designed major in theatre, video and creative writing. After completing her Bachelors Degree, Sarah dove into the improvisation and sketch comedy scene in Chicago. She completed the training program at Improv Olympic in Chicago and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory. Sarah was in the first cohort of six students in Second City's yearlong Directing Program. Sarah was on the faculty of the Second City Training Center for two years teaching acting and improvisation to children, teens and adults. She also was a Theatre instructor at HSPVA where she taught master classes and directed camps. After eight years in Chicago, Sarah moved to sunny Los Angeles where she produced, co-wrote and starred in an original improvised film. Sarah continued to study and explore human behavior by earning a Masters in Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles.

Sarah now lives in Oakland, California. She is a mother to a beautiful four year old boy and works in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. Sarah's heart, soul and creative spirit remain in the arts. Thank you to my dear friend Ronnie Blaine for this opportunity to share the joy of authentic expression with all of you.
