HITS classes are divided into three semesters: fall, spring, and summer. In the fall and spring, the class lasts the entire semester, but in the summer we have created convenient, smaller sessions with the same number of instruction hours as the fall and spring. Each class is organized by grade level and has 20-30 students. As the semester progresses, students audition for a part, learn the script, music and choreography of a show, and learn their unique role.
As a performance-based educational theatre, HITS ensures that every student sings and dances in each show and has lines to say, regardless of ability or experience. Each student is extremely special and deserves their moment to shine!
At the end of the semester, each class will perform in at least two full-scale performances at HITS. All performances take place at HITS Theatre, except for the annual Miller Outdoor Theatre production in April, and are open to the public.
