Please join us in auditioning for our spring production of Ragtime at Miller Outdoor Theatre. While the musical paints a powerful portrait of life in turn-of the-century America, it is still very relevant for us today. Ragtime was written by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on this Island, Seussical, and Lucky Stiff) and noted playwright Terrence McNally (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Master Class).
Time Magazine called it, “The best musical in twenty years!” America is often referred to as a “melting pot” and Ragtime features many diverse characters that make that nickname very appropriate. It features such show stopping songs such as “Getting Ready Ra,” “Your Daddy’s Son,” “Wheels of a Dream,” “Till We Reach that Day,” “Back to Before” and “Make Them Hear You.” This thrilling musical is sure to inspire actors and actresses alike. So come join us!
To audition for “Ragtime”
You must sign-up for a singing audition time slot and a dancing audition time slot. Dance slots are made according to grade levels.

An accompanist will be provided.
Bring 16 bars of a song that would fit in the style of the musical Ragtime or shows off your voice.

Who: Anybody from grades 4-12 and non-equity adults
Sign up for a five minute time slot during these dates:

Dance Auditions:
Friday, November 18th 4-9 PM
5:00-6:00 4th-6th graders
6:00-7:30 7th-9th graders
7:30-9:00 10th-12th graders and non-equity adults as well.
Saturday, November 19th 5-9 PM
5:00-6:00 4th-6th grades
6:00-7:30 7th-9th grades
7:30-9:00 10th -12th grades and non-nquity adults as well.
