Auditions Coming Soon for Our Town

As an added opportunity for our teen students, HITS Theatre will be presenting Thornton Wilder’s Our Town as an audition-only production. This quintessential American drama follows the courtship and marriage of George and Emily, and in following the two, reveals the workings of a little town in New Hampshire and the lives of its citizens. In a rehearsal environment, students will refine their text analysis skills and learn to engage their physicality in the telling of a story.

Updated Audition Information:  Auditions will take place on Friday , May 21st from 5 -9pm with callbacks on Friday, May 28, from 5-9pm. Auditions can be scheduled by emailing Eva De La Cruz at: eva@hitstheatre.org. We will schedule groups of kids every 30 minutes. Please plan to stay for the entire time.

We will have monologues available from the play at HITS starting on Friday, May 14th.  Printed monologues are available to all people with a confirmed appointment.   All kids auditioning should prepare one of those monologuesAll kids auditioning should prepare one of those monologues. Callbacks will consist of scenes from the play, to be assigned when callbacks are announced on Monday, May 24.

Rehearsals Dates:
Rehearsals will take place Monday-Friday, 5-8pm. We will rehearse Monday, June 28 - Thursday, July 15.

Performance Dates:
Performances at 7:30pm on Friday, July 16th and Saturday, July 17th; 3pm on Sunday, July 18th

Casting note: This is very much an ensemble piece. We will have a cast of about 26 actors, and there are many roles for both men and women in the show.  Auditions are open ONLY to actors who are entering 6th grade or higher.
