College Audition Coaching and Workshops

As a a high school senior preparing for your musical theatre auditions, you are just one of thousands each year that vie for a few hundred spots in college performing arts programs across the nation. You can rely on feedback from your friends and family to prepare for the 5-10 minute window of opportunity, or you can enlist the help of coaches who specialize in the process. Our staff can help you with monologue preparation, song selection, and even vocal health during the college audition season.

Why HITS?  The Audition Coaching Program is headed by Joanne Woodard.  Joanne has over 24 years of experience in guiding prospective musical theatre students through the audition process.   She is familiar with the programs and the theatre department heads of over 70 universities and conservatories. 

 

Our Executive Artistic Director, JoAnne Woodard, has helped many students gain places at top theatre programs. Through her experience as a successful actress, director and casting professional she has guided many students through the initial rounds and workshop stages of the theatre school audition process.

 

Joanne is passionate about teaching. Her personal and unpretentious approach aims to work with your individual talent to bring out the very best in YOU and send you to your audition brimming with confidence.  The results speak for themselves - recent students have successfully gained places in college programs throughout the country.

Join us for a series of six seminars focusing on the college audition process. Each seminar will last 1hour, except for the Mock Audition Workshop which will last for 2 hours and includes a Question & Answer session. Parents are invited to attend the first and last class. A sample series includes:
