HITS is
devoted to
educating
children
through
the
performing
arts. In
order to
extend
this
enrichment,
HITS
provides
outreach
programs
in the
community,
including:

Musical
in
Miller
Outdoor
Theatre

Scholarships

Programs
in
schools
and
parks
Outreach The HITS
staff has
done
musical
theatre
workshops
both on
and off
campus for
school
groups,
clubs and
parks.
These
workshops
are
similar to
the
in-house
classes. A
new
outreach
program
for
special
needs
children
is
currently
being
taught at
Ronald
McDonald
House,
Hester
House,
Star of
Hope and
House
of Tiny
Treasures
as well as
others.

The
HITS/Miller
Outdoor
Theatre
performances
are our
annual
free
productions
in
Houston’s
Hermann
Park. For
the past
fifteen
years HITS
has
produced a
free
family-oriented
Broadway
musical
each
spring
utilizing
a
professional
orchestra
and union
stagehands,
high-quality
rented
scenery,
beautiful
professionally-created
costumes,
and a
professional
artistic
staff of
the
highest
caliber.
Scholarship
Programs
HITS
offers
on-going
year-round
financial
assistance
for
children
who want
to
participate
in the
arts but
do not
have the
economic
resources.
Currently
24% of
HITS
students
are
receiving
scholarships
to attend
musical
theatre
and dance
classes at
HITS.
